What is the significance of full moon ?

In Eastern mythology, the crescent Moon is adorned by Lord Shiva on his crown. Lord is the Absolute Eternal Reality and Moon is said to be the controller of our mind. Unique from other planets, the Moon waxes for 14 days to become zero, the Shunya or New Moon. It then builds itself back in another 14 days and become a Full Moon.

Why meditate during full moon?

Pineal gland is one of our endocrine glands , that periodically secretes melatonin hormone to influence our various body functions . Due to its gravitational luna sensor properties, Pineal gland’s activity is quite distinct at the full moon. The pineal gland, spiritually referred as third eye, gets significantly affected by the moon’s light during the full moon because of the changing geomagnetic fields. The substantial gravitational force of the moon is sufficient to cause the rise in all water bodies on earth, oceans, rivers,.. and human bodies too(the human body is 70% water). The full moon exerts quite an energetic pull on the water within our body and influences our mind’s rhythms. People may experience emotional upheaval, increased stress and anxiety. The ultrasensitive people, whose energies are not aligned properly, may experience mild to moderate insanity or lunacy. On the contrary, those who are in perfect alignment with themselves, may experience even more higher vibration state compared to what they were already in. Meditation done during the full moon night, and two days before and after, will take you to the pinnacle of reprogramming the thoughts or circumstances that may be blocking you from reaching our highest potential in health, prosperity, emotional wellness and ultimate knowledge or truth. So, the day of Purnima or Full Moon is beneficial to do meditation.
